Plus Size Work from Home Clothes

Before getting into ALL of my genius plus size work from home clothes, I wanted to share a few tips with you that I’ve learned over the years. I’ve done the hard work, so YOU don’t have to!

  1. FABRIC CONTENT: When looking at plus size work from home clothes online, it can be hard to tell if a top or pants are gonna be COMFY to wear. Over the years, I’ve learned that if it’s not COMFY — I just won’t wear it when working from home, lol. Because of this, I recommend that you look for the FABRIC INFO. You may have to google the fabric types, but TLDR things that are jersey will have stretch, 100% cotton will not be — and neither is rayon!
  2. NO ZIPPERS ON PANTS: While I love a good dress pant or jean, I’ve learned that it’s often better to find plus size trousers without zippers – they can bunch up weirdly while you’re sitting!
  3. SUPPORTIVE OFFICE CHAIR: Listen, bestie, I’ve learned that it doesn’t matter how comfy your work from home outfit is if your office chair SUCKS! Be sure to invest here!

Alrighty, let’s get to the outfits!

#1 Plus Size Work from Home Clothes: Puff Sleeve Top (Jersey Knit Fabric)

My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE plus size work from home clothes are puff sleeve tops made out of a cotton blend (with stretch) or a jersey knit (very comfy)! Reason being is because the “puff sleeve” elevates the shirt to “workwear” in my mind (unlike a t-shirt lol), and these are so COMFY! I feel put together and I don’t have to tug on my top continually!

A couple of years ago, I bought a SET of plus size puff sleeve or lantern sleeve tops as a default work uniform for days when I just need an easy work outfit!

My Picks:

#2 Plus Size Work from Home Clothes: Mock Neck Top

My SECOND FAVORITE plus size work from home clothes are mock neck tops. A “mock neck” top is kind of like a turtle neck, only it’s less fabric around your neck. I have a bunch of these in black right now, as they’re perfect “work zoom shirts” lol. They look professional, but are comfy!

I like to style mine with bold gold earrings and a short necklace worn over the plus size work from home top!

#3 Plus Size Work from Home Outfits: Bow Blouse

Ok, I am OSESSED with pussy bow blouses. On work from home days where I need to be on my A-GAME (pitching a new potential client, presenting a training, etc), a bow blouse is my go-to. to get a crisp look, I have to sacrifice a bit of comfort and go with a more rigid fabric (like satin, 100% cotton or linen, etc), but it’s worth it!

I like the Pussy Bow Blouse aesthetic for plus size work from home clothes because the MAIN feature — the bow — is RIGHT by your face! Folks can see it on Zoom! Love that!

#4 Plus Size Work from Home Clothes: Throw a Blazer on It

Ok, I have a GREAT work from home wardrobe hack to share with you:

Keep a neutral blazer (I own this one from Eloquii and LOVE IT) next to your WFH desk. Then you can throw it on easily before a Zoom call or video conference. A neutral blazer can go over just about anything, making it a must-have plus size work from home wardrobe piece — in my opinion!

  • Sizing: Up to a size 32, which is a 63 inch waist on their chart!

#5 Plus Size Work from Home Clothes: Jersey (Stretch) Jumpsuit

A few years ago, Dia & Co sent me a stretch jersey jumpsuit (during early 2020, cough), and it was then I realized that a soft jumpsuit made out of jersey stretch is BASICALLY PAJAMAS! Genius!

I love a plus size jumpsuit made out of jersey fabric (or other cozy comfy fabric), and I *def* recommend adding one to your wardrobe!

Right now, Lane Bryant seems to have the most options, so I’ve linked a few below! I’ve also included two options from Dia & Co, as they helped me figure this out!!

#6 Plus Size Work from Home Outfits: Zip Tops from City Chic

Remember how above I shared that I like pussy bow blouses because the interest is around the face, making them perfect for Zoom (and great plus size work from home tops)?

SIMILARLY, the “zipper top” from City Chic USA is great style, and City Chic reinvents this style in different colors, sleeve lengths and types, etc. This is a great work from home staple!

  • Sizing: City Chic USA makes plus size work from home clothes in up to a size 24, which corresponds to 48.4″ waist measurement on their chart! <3

#7 Plus Size Work from Home Clothes: Plus Size Ponte Blazer

Ok, bestie! Let’s talk FABRIC (some more, lol). PONTE is an excellent fabric for plus size workwear, because it maintains it’s shape (don’t wat to look sloppy or unkempt at work), while also being super comfy!

I love getting plus size ponte pants (often from Torrid) and Ashley Stewart has ponte blazers! This fabric is a great hack for plus size work from home clothing!

  • Sizing: Ashley Stewart goes up to a size 32, which is a waist measurement of 55 inches

#8 Plus Size Work from Home Clothes: Boyfriend Cardigan and Tee

For the days when you just want to snuggle up with a mug of tea and do ALL THE WORK and talk to NO ONE, I recommend a “boyfriend cardigan” paired with a t-shirt and comfy jeans. This outfit still gets you into work mode, bu the “boyfriend” cut is much more oversized and cozy!

  • Sizing: City Chic USA goes up to a size 24, which is a 48.4″ waist on their chart! <3

#10 Plus Size Work from Home Clothes: Knit V-Neck Sweater

Similar to the above dress, I wanted to point out v-neck knit SWEATERS! These can be great layering pieces for your wardrobe, and they’re also SUPER comfy. I curated this v-neck sweater from City Chic because of the extra detailing on the shoulder – really elevates this top!

  • Sizing: Up to a size 24 or 48.4″ waist

#11 Plus Size Work from Home Clothes: Faux Wrap Top

Next up, we have a cozy wrap top! Wrap tops in soft fabric are basically just a robe in disguise, lol! I loved this one from Ashley Stewart! I’d style this with a few layered gold necklaces and studs. And probs a hair claw clip because I’m working from home, lol!

  • Sizing: Ashley Stewart goes up to a size 32, which is a waist measurement of 55 inches

#12 Plus Size Work from Home Outfits: Square Neck Top

Ok, hear me out! A SQUARE neck top looks much more “put together” than a v-neck top or t-shirt. IDK why (maybe because v-necks are more ubiquitous?). For this reason, I made sure to include this square neck top (I freaking ADORE this model) on my round up of plus size work from home outfits. I also added an option from Lane Bryant, underneath the torrid top!

  • Sizing: Up to a size 6X, which is a waist of 64″ on their chart!

#13 Plus Size Work from Home Clothes: Long Cardigan Duster

Next up, I want to talk to you about cardigan DUSTERS! These are basically glorified robes, lol! Like the boyfriend cardigan, they’re very cozy. I love a neutral or one in black, to throw over a t-shirt to be more ~professional~ on days you’re wearing a cami or graphic tee (cough I do that cough).

  • Sizing: Available in up to a size 32, which is a 62 inch waist on their chart

Check out these plus size work from home clothes here!

#14 Plus Size Work from Home Clothes: Flutter Sleeve Top

Ok, so the outfit below maybe isn’t great for WFH (remember my zipper rule from above?) but the flutter sleeve top IS! Just like the pussy bow blouse and zipper top, flutter sleeves are shown in camera (often) and are professional and cozy!

  • Sizing: Torrid goes up to a size 6X, which is a waist of 64″ on their chart!

#15 Plus Size Work from Home Outfits: Inspo Outfit

This outfit is no longer available on 11 Honoré, but I’m just obsessed with it! Wide leg palazzo pants and deep red shirt?! This outfit is so chic!!

#16 Plus Size Work from Home Outfits: Cozy Turtleneck

I think that Universal Standard has a ton of great options to wear while working from home! Their clothes are very comfy!

I decided to include this turtleneck (it was hard to choose lol), because I love a jewel tone!

  • Sizing: Made in up to a 4X or size 40 (70 inch waist)

#17 Plus Size Work from Home Outfits: Drape Neck Tank

Last but NEVER least in my heart, we have the drape neck top or tank. Sometimes called a “cowl neck” this look is chic and comfy!

  • Sizing: Up to a size 6X, which is a waist of 64″ on their chart!
