Today on my blog, I wanted to share where to shop for the best crossbody purses. (Fun fact, there seems to be a good amount of debate over whether it’s “cross body” or “crossbody,” so I’ll be uses the two spellings interchangeably on this post. Finding a cross body bag with a long strap can be such a struggle!
I decided to write this post after visiting a local shop, and finding a cross body purse. Unfortunately, the strap wasn’t long enough for me, which was a bummer! Up to this point, I haven’t really used smaller purses (I’m traveling and having more fun in 2023!), so I started to poke around online.
That poking around made me go, “Wait, I should share my findings with my blog readers!!” So here I am!

Best Plus Size Cross body Bag
In this post below, I’ve shared brands that make plus size crossbody bags and purses. I’ve done my best to list brands as well as some of my favorite specific finds. Where possible, I’ve also included the strap length of the plus size crossbody purses, so you can better decide what to order. As always, make sure to check all of the details with the brand. I do my best to keep my plus size guides and reviews updated, but brands do change things up!! So be sure to check!
Before I share my fave plus size crossbody bags, here are a few tips to note:
- If you fall in love with a bag that has too short of a strap, you can buy a plus size crossbody bag extender! They come in a bunch of options and finishes!
- From my research, Eloquii has the best plus size crossbody bags — with the longest straps (overall)! Each of their bags is different so check the product description.
- Check the “Drop”! Purse straps are often talked about in terms of the “Drop.” This is the longest distance between the strap and the bag. It’s kind of like if you hung the strap off of a finger, and measured that distance. If you multiply “the Drop” by 2, you’ll often get the strap length (ish).

#2 Plus Size Crossbody Bag from Canvelle – MY FAVORITE!!!
Ok, I freaking LOVE my plus size crossbody bag from Canvelle. They sent me one to try, and I’m a pretty harsh critic — I use this EVERY DAY! It’s literally sitting next to me right now, in black This is so nice to use when traveling on hikes, when working from a coffee shop, etc.
The strap is comfy and I love the gold hardware! Other colors are available, of course!
I wear it as a crossbody bag over one shoulder, but you could also go old school and wear as a fanny pack.

#3 Crossbody Purse for Plus Sizes from Portland Leather || $194 +
I’ve never personally tried Portland Leather, but I am intrigued by this round crossbody bag! It comes in two sizes (so helpful for plus size babes like me!), and has a total strap length of up to 53.5 inches! (Compared to other brands on this list, that means it’s drop is 26.75 ish! Don’t quote me on that my math could be a little off)! This gorgeous bag comes in a bunch of different colors, and it’s really just gorgeous!

#4 Best Plus Size Crossbody Bag – Lane Bryant
Next up on my list of plus size crossbody bags and purses is Lane Bryant! LB is one of my favorite plus size retailers as a plus size babe!

#5 Best Plus Size Crossbody Bag – Camera Travel Bag
Let’s talk about travel! I love having a plus size crossbody bag when traveling to keep my stuff more secure. This plus size crossbody bag is the perfect size for a small tourist camera (I love my Sony A5100), or to hold one’s phone and a few other items.

Second on the list is Eloquii. I don’t know how I missed the memo for so long, but Eloquii has quite the range of plus size crossbody bags, as well as other fun purses!

- Length of Strap: Each bag has a different drop. Many of the plus size crossbody bags at Eloquii go up to a 30.5″ drop!

If you’re anything like me, then you carry a LOT of stuff in your bag, and sometimes you need a larger plus size crossbody that is more roomy — because you need it to hold more stuff!
- Length of Strap: This domed satchel bag has a strap that is 43.7 – 51.6 inches long, which is about a 21.5 to 25.8 drop!

Telfar is an incredibly popular brand at the moment, and their small bag is known for having an extra extra long strap, as a design feature. TELFAR uses a drop model to release their massively popular bags, offering a pre-order program as well as dropping specific colors throughout the week.

Next up, let’s boot up ol’ trusty Amazon to find a plus size cross body bag with a “long drop.” I was excited to see this plus size purse comes in over 20 colors!! I like to travel with these kinds of purses, especially if I’m playing tourist for a day and seeing the sites!

First up on my list of plus size crossbody bags and purses is Woman Within! I find that Woman Within is extremely well-known among some plus size babes, while others have never heard of the brand! Which is a bummer, as many of their pieces go up to a size 40.
