Today on my blog, I’m sharing where to shop for plus size vintage clothing. Whether you’re super into 1970’s fashion, are a Y2K lover or love vintage fashion from earlier decades (but not vintage values!), then this post is for you!
This post is all about plus size vintage clothing.
Plus Size Vintage Clothing
Before we get going with my plus size vintage clothing recs, I wanted to share a few of my TOP TIPS when shopping plus size vintage:
- Grab a tape measurer! Sizing can vary wildly in the plus size fashion space, and it gets even more… interesting, shall we say, with plus size vintage clothing. I like to get the 120 inch tape measurer from Amazon, and sometimes it’s helpful to grab a friend! (I also like to take a tape measurer when shopping in-store, to make things a bit easier.)
- Instagram Lives are your BFF! Many of the plus size vintage clothing brands listed do Instagram Live Sales, and sometimes Facebook Live Sales! It can be a LOT of work to photograph and list plus size vintage clothing online, so a good number of brands do it LIVE! (Plus, it’s super fun to shop live!)
- If it doesn’t fit, leave it! I talk about this more in my info on Fat Fancy (#3), but it bears repeating! If a plus size vintage garment is too small, leave it for the next cutie! It’s no fun having a closet with clothes that are too small, and by leaving vintage behind we can all snag pieces we love!
Alrighty, let’s get into the roundup!
#1 Plus Size Vintage Clothing: Goldie’s Vintage
I found Goldies Vtg on etsy, and OH MY GOD WHAT A FIND! This plus size vintage store sells vintage clothes from just about every decade, from 1950’s plus size vintage lingerie to 1980’s grunge outfits.
Below, I’ve shared a few outfits from the brand!
#2 Plus Size Vintage Clothing: More Than Your Average
Next up, we have another new-to-me plus size vintage clothing brand, More Than Your Average. Their product images are STUNNING (I love all of the vibrant colors).
From the brand’s about page: “So, in 2017, Price launched More Than Your Average (MTYA), an online vintage and thrift boutique for women size 12 and up who find it challenging to acquire inspiring pieces in a typical store. MTYA caters to individuals who want to ‘step outside of their comfort zone and embrace their originality.’ Price says, ‘I believe all women should be celebrated through fashion, no matter their size or shape. All women deserve equal access to pieces that empower them every day and also put a smile on their face.'”
#3 Plus Size Vintage Clothing: Fat Fancy
Ok, first up on my list is Fat Fancy — a plus size vintage and resale shop in Portland, Oregon! Like many of the brands on my list of plus size vintage clothing options here, Fat Fancy has a BUNCH of ways to check out plus size vintage clothes online, including social media posts, Facebook Live sales, etc.
I went to Fat Fancy’s newest location in Portland, Oregon, this last summer, and I had a BLAST trying on their resale and vintage pieces. (I almost bought a vintage Beth Ditto dress, but it was a size off – so I decided to leave that vintage find for the next babe).
From the owner, Erica: “This November we did move to a new location on Hawthorne Blvd! It is 4 times the amount of space than the previous store on Sandy. Any picture you would like to use is great with us. I’m in the shop tomorrow if you want some other fun options. This month we are starting once a month curated vintage live sales!”
Fat Fancy also has a SUPER FUN TikTok presence, so I highly recommend checking them out!
#4 Plus Size Vintage Clothing: Copperhive Vintage
Copperhive Vintage is actually a vintage brand located in my hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah, and I actually interviewed the founder/owner HERE!
Jacqueline (founder/co-owner with her husband) has created a limited line of plus size upcycled fashion for vintage loving babes, as authentic plus size vintage can be pretty hard to find! Jacqueline has a fun and bright aesthetic with cool hipster vibes, and her stuff is just FUN!

#5 Plus Size Vintage Clothing: Plus BKLYN
Next up on my list of plus size vintage clothing stores, you *know* I have to talk about PLUS BKLYN! This plus size vintage clothing store does a bunch of online sales (Facebook and Instagram Lives FTW), and their Instagram Stories often have great finds. They also have an online selection of plus size vintage clothing. (If you’re looking for something super specific, I highly recommend sending them a DM!
Plus BKLYN is plus-owned, and founder Alexis Krase has this dreamy and vibrant fat maximalist aesthetic that I adore! I actually interviewed her for my blog here!
The staff at Plus BKLYN really go above and beyond, which is why they also made my list of plus size stylists and the best plus size stores in NYC!
#6 Plus Size Vintage Clothing: The Plus Bus
Next up on my list of where to shop for plus size vintage clothing online (and in person!!) is The Plus Bus! This plus size vintage and resale store (co-owned by Marcy Guevara-Prete and Jen Wilder), has been a PILLAR in the plus size fashion community for years, and they’re just the best! I visited their shop in 2018 (ish) in Los Angeles, and the brand has grown a ton!
From the owners, Marcy and Jen: “[The Plus Bus] is LA’s premier destination for plus size fashion size 12 and up. You can find everything from fast fashion to luxury, new with tags to vintage. All are welcome.”
Like many of the other plus size brick and mortar stores in my guide to plus size vintage, The Plus Bus bring plus size vintage clothing (and resale options) to plus size customers all over the United States through Facebook Live sales.
#7 Plus Size Vintage Clothing: Heavy Duty Vintage
Next up, a plus size vintage clothing brand you can shop online! Heavy Duty Vintage is based in Seattle, Washington, and they have some great finds!
#8 Plus Size Vintage Clothing: Berriez
This next plus size vintage clothing brand is new to me — and IDK how I missed the memo! Berriez is a rad AF brand, bringing vintage-inspired clothing (lots of 90’s and Y2K vibes) to plus size fat fashionistas! They have a really captivating visual aesthetic, and their creative director is killing the game!
From the founder and CEO, Emma Zack: “Berriez is an online boutique specializing in plus size vintage, reworked vintage, and emerging designers. We started by online selling plus size vintage, but soon realized even that was limited – only being able to source vintage pieces up to a modern day 20/22. THis is why we introduced the reworked vintage and emerging designer aspect into our brand, allowing us to offer up to size 5X in certain collections.”
Photos below show models in plus size vintage or reworked vintage! <3333
#9 Plus Size Vintage Clothing: Nanometer
I found this next aesthetic AF plus size vintage clothing brand on etsy, and I am HERE for their outfit photos and styling! So retro and cool!!
#10 Plus Size Vintage Clothing: Ethical Bodies
I first found this plus size vintage clothing brand on TikTok (PS, you can join me HERE), and I love the updates from shop owner, Maura.
From their website: ” EB you will find a mix of vintage and modern clothing, fun patterns, bright colors, statement pieces, and quality classics that never go out of style.”

#11 Plus Size Vintage Clothing: Morning Glorious
“Classic, mod, retro, boho. Shop MorningGlorious for a wide selection of vintage clothing & accessories. Search XS, S, M, L, XL or 2XL within the shop to find your size!”
#12 Plus Size Vintage Clothing: New Nostalgia
New Nostalgia is a vintage shop I came across on etsy, with a some great plus size vintage pieces!

#13 Plus Size Vintage Clothing: Two Big Blondes – Vintage & Thrift
Next up, a plus size vintage clothing store (that focuses on resale and thrift finds!) in Seattle. I haven’t made it over to Two Big Blondes (I need to get over there!), and I am really impressed with all of the listings on their online website!!

Plus Size Vintage Inspired Clothing
Because there aren’t a lot of plus size vintage clothing options in larger sizes (for a few specific and rather appalling reasons), I thought it would also be super helpful to include plus size vintage INSPIRED clothing brands — where you can get that vintage LOOK, in a variety of sizes.
#1 Plus Size Vintage Inspired Clothing: Unique Vintage
First up on my plus size vintage INSPIRED clothing section, we have Unique Vintage. I am SUCH a fan of this brand (I’ve used their pieces in multiple photoshoots, including this plus size flapper editorial!), and they have plus size vintage-inspired fashion for a variety of decades, from the 1920’s to the 1970’s — and they also have a great selection of plus size rockabilly fashion and plus size 1950’s housewives dresses. We love to appreciate vintage fashion with modern values, can I get an AMEN?!
- Sizing: Unique Vintage goes up to a size 4X, or about a 24/26

Below, I’ve shared a few of my favorite plus size retro inspired outfits from Unique Vintage!
#2 Plus Size Vintage Inspired Clothing: ModCloth
Next up on my list of plus size vintage inspired clothing, obviouslyyyy I have to include ModCloth! This brand has been a staple in many vintage-loving plus size wardrobes over the year!
ModCloth has a lot of 1930’s and 1940’s influences, with the 1970’s making regular appearances.
- Sizing: ModCloth goes up to a 4X

Below, I’ve shared some of my fave plus size vintage-inspired looks from ModClothin in 2023:
#3 Plus Size Vintage Clothing: Hot Topic
Ok, I know a lot of people think that Hot Topic is mostly just a place to get alternative, witchy, and goth clothes — but they’re wrong. Hot Topic has been a quiet leader in the plus size fashion space, offering fashionistas clothing that makes a STATEMENT and takes up space.
When shopping for plus size vintage inspired clothing, I recommend shopping their online site — as there’s limited room for stock in-stores. (They sell gifts, jewelry, novelty items, etc, and there are plus size vintage-inspired items in-store, but I’d shop online!)
#4 Plus Size Vintage Clothing: ASOS
I debated including ASOS in this roundup, because they’re not a fashion brand DEDICATED to vintage looks like Unique Vintage of ModCloth, but they often have really fun retro and vintage-inspired plus size fashion pop up on their website — you just have to be willing to look for it!
#5 Plus Size Vintage Inspired Clothing: Pinup Girl Clothing
I love Pinup Girl Clothing, and I have several pieces from this brand! They’re known for more rockabilly and 1950’s style, with some mod and retro looks thrown in. I love that this brand puts lots of STRETCH in their clothing, making it easier to wear than the 100% cotton/satin/etc fabrics of yesteryear!
