It is a truth universally acknowledge that bloggers are obsessed with this hat style.
Having a hat and a bag makes an OOTD picture look more ~styled~, so we love a hat.
Buuuuut I’ve always felt pretty silly in this particular hat, worried I look like I’m about to bring up the health benefits of oatmeal. It makes me feel a little silly, so I often put it on in-store and take it off.

But then I realized – part of the fun of fashion is feeling silly and looking a little ridiculous. So I got out of my comfort zone and bought this dang hat.
Beige Textured Knit Bodycon Mini-Dress from Torrid
Figuring out what to style this bad boy with was a little hard, until I saw this bodycon dress at my local Torrid. This is something I *NEVER*would’ve ordered online, but in the spirit of trying new things I took it into the dressing room.
And fell in love!
This dress is a great “base” layer, making it versatile and easy to work with a lot of outfits.
Putting the Look Together
I styled the neutral tan bodycon with a jean jacket (also Torrid!), black ankle boots and That Hat.
With a palette like this, I definitely wanted to keep it simple! I really had fun with this southwest vibe.
Reviewing the Fit of This Torrid Dress
Okay, so I probably could’ve sized down to a Torrid 2 (I’m wearing a 3 in this photo). But I wanted it a bit more loose. The dress came to mid-calf on me, and I’m 5’4″.

Layer It Up with Sonsee
It was a little chilly to be wearing this dress, so in the future I’m going to pair this dress with my black Sonsee Slip Dress underneath, to layer it up and stay warm! This is NOT a shaper, rather an additional layer.
I’ve shared more images than I’ll ever be able to post to social media below!
