Today on my blog, I’m excited to talk about plus size ballet core outfits!! As a blogger with almost ten years in the plus size fashion industry, I have a lot of experience — AND HOT TAKES — on where to shop for the BEST plus size ballet core outfits!

There are three CORE things you need to know about shopping for plus size ballet core outfits — 3 OF MY KEY TIPS — that I want to share with you.

They are:

Tip #1: MOVEMENT! A core part of plus size ballet core is finding clothing pieces with chiffon or silky like fabrics that FLUTTER. Ballet dancers look for those kinds of pieces when finding pieces for practice and performance.
Tip #2: FIT! It can be tempting to find the MOST tight garments, as ballet dancers often need tight garments for support. However, I don’t recommend going SUPER TIGHT — the key thing here with plus size ballet core is to be INSPIRED. If your clothing is super tight, you won’t be comfy! Constantly pulling at your clothes is not a good look!

#2: Plus Size Ballet Core Outfits: Plus Size Wide Leg Gauzey Pants

Next up, I wanted to showcase an example of a romantic plus size ballet core outfit. These wide leg gauzey pants look beautiful with movement, as does the flowy gathered sleeves. I think that this is a beautiful plus size ballet core outfit inspired by a rehearsal.

#3: Plus Size Balletcore Outfits: Plus Size Leg Warmers

Next up, we have something ALL plus size ballet core lovers need (at least in my opinion!): leg warmers! These leg warmers are a must have for ballet core, going perfect with gauzey skirts and bodysuits or leotards.

Sizing: Tube length 70cm/28 inch. Stretch: upper thighs to 35 inches.

#4: Plus Size Ballet Core Outfits: Pleated A-Line Skirt

Next up, a tan or cream gauzey skirt! I love the layers of this skirt! I’d pair this plus size ballet core skirt with a white tank top as shown – either a knit one or one made out of 100% cotton (like a t-shirt).

Satin is a must part of ballet core! Because it doesn’t stretch, I opted to include this fun plus size ballet core top with full sleeves and a flowy look — gathered at the waist. This could be worn with leggings and leg warmers for the perfect plus size ballet core outfit!

#8: Plus Size Ballet Core Outfits: White Plus Size Tulle Top

I fell in LOVE with this plus size ballet core top, which is actually from the Eloquii bridal collection! The sheer fabric, ruffles and movement of this top really make it perfect for a plus size ballet core outfit. Pairing it with jeans adds a street fashion edge (I personally love the photos of ballerinas dancing in street clothes in cities like New York City)! I think you could also pair this top with a dramatic skirt or even wide leg pants – I personally wouldn’t do leggings though!

#9: Plus Size Balletcore Outfits: Plus Size Satin Shirt

I love that this plus size satin top is giving me gorgeous ballet core vibes — the color of this satin reminds me of the color of ribbons on ballet shoes — gorgeous! I think that this top would look GORGEOUS untucked with black leggings or even a pastel legging! I’d add in leg warmers, of course!
