Today on the blog, I’m sharing my plus size fairycore outfit ideas for 2023. Fairycore is SUCH a fun aesthetic, and one I’ve been playing around with on my own time! (Outside of being a blogger, lol.)

Plus Size Fairycore
Before we get into the thick of it, I wanted to share three of my own tips for plus size fairycore:
- Have fun with it! Dressing oneself can be its own form of creative expression!
- Throw a picnic or event to go FULL fairycore (if you need an excuse to get dressed up)
- Don’t get too caught up in what IS or ISN’T “fairycore”! Arguments can be made across aesthetics!
What is plus size fairycore?
Plus size fairycore is a clothing aesthetic (and can often be a home or art aesthetic) that focuses on the sorts of imagery we see in fantasy, surround elf and fae. It can also pull from fairytales, including Disney princess aesthetics, etc. Fairycore often includes light gauzey or “ethereal” fabric, antiques, pastel colors, plants, etc. Think the elves in the Lord of the Rings movies or the beautiful fairycore influencers we see online! Sometimes plus size fairycore can crossover into cosplay — think special effects makeup to add elf ears — but not always!

#1 Plus Size Fairycore: Pastel Purple Dress
I chose this plus size fairycore outfit to start off my guide to plus size fairycore, because of its pastel color and gauzey fabric. The full sleeves are romantic and beautiful. This beautiful plus size fairycore dress is available in over 20 colors, including yellow, greens, blues, white and more!
To style this plus size fairycore, I would go with long loose slightly curled hair, sparkly butterfly hair pieces (clips or combs) and bare feet – or maybe platform shoes if I’m going out and about!

#2 Plus Size Fairycore: Natalia Dress
This plus size fairycore dress is BEAUTIFUL, and I love how it is styled with the nude shoes and flower headband — with veil! I think this is such a lovely fairycore outfit!

#3 Plus Size Fairycore: Lavender Puff Dress from Selkie
Selkie is beloved by aesthetic girlies and folks the world over — providing wardrobe options for those who love romantic fashion. The brand has a number of plus size fairycore options — both full-length dresses and short ones — as well as other clothing inspired more for a prince! <3
For styling, I would add a lovely simple elegant tiara, simple circlet, or wirerimmed glasses.

#4 Plus Size Fairycore: Magnolia Place Flower Party Midori Swing Dress
My next plus size farycore idea is a dress that DEFINITELY references Taylor Swift! This dress looks ready for a fairyore tea party! To style this outfit, I personally would add a tiara (I love a tiara!) or other fae elements (wings anyone?!), and you have a beautiful plus size fairycore look!

#5 Plus Size Fairycore: Off Shoulder Dress
I think that this next dress is PEAK plus size fairycore — I just wish it was shown on a plus size model. I would style this plus size fairycore outfit with a delicate ivy-inspired taira, long loose hair and maybe lace up slippers (like a ballerina, but for regular wear)!

This plus size faerie is ready for her fairycore moment! I love the addition of a head kerchief here for a plus size fairycore moment!

#7 Plus Size Fairycore: Plus Organdie Applique Buttoned Woven Blouse
I squealed a little bit when I found this plus size fairycore top — the greenery and vines are just PERFEC for plus size fairycore. This is definitely a plus size fairycore piece that you can wear to the office and out and about, adding more of a fairycore flavor to a professional wardrobe.
Karen Millen is a new-to-me brand, and I’m just in love with this top!
If you wanted to go FULL fairycore, I’d complete the outfit with a gauzey skirt, a circlet (a type of tiara or crown) for my fellow royalty-lovers, or maybe add in antique books and wirerimmed glasses for those who love that aesthetic!

#8 Plus Size Fairycore: Velvet Duster from Unique Vintage
I LOVE this next plus size fairycore outfit, and I think it’s giving fairycore housewife, a bit. I think that taking the duster and adding to a full floor-length gown with tiara could turn this gorgeous house robe in to an almost royal cape!

#9 Plus Size Fairycore: Cream Puff Sleeve Dress from Eloquii
This next plus size fairycore dress is PERFECT base layer for all sorts of plus size fairycore and other “core” aesthetics. This dress is beautiful on it’s own (very fairycore), but adding in long, golden necklaces or earrings — of course a tiara — and other accessories could take this fairycore dress into other aesethetics.

#10 Plus Size Fairycore: Cloud Dress from Selkie
I think that this plus size fairycore dress is more kawaii-fairycore. Very cute and fun — I love the gauzey fabric with pastels — but this is less austere than our fairycore friends who are LOTR (Lord of The Rings) die hards. This cloud dress from Selkie is begging for some mushroom accessories, open toed shoes and lots of whimsical sparkly jewelry that is nature-inspired, in my honest opinion!

#11 Plus Size Fairycore: Floral Fairycore Gown from Amazon
Ah, Amazon, one of the most useful places on the internet in 2023! This plus size fairycore dress is just lovely, and available in other colors. I love the sheer sleeves and pastel color. It also featuers a more structured bodice — almost corset like — very much a fae moment. I think the open square neck is so sophisticated, and I would probably style this dress with a velvet choker and layered necklaces. I’d wear my hair up or half down, adding in a delicate tiara or circlet woven through.

#12 Plus Size Fairycore: Sweet Society Pastel Butterfly Mesh Puff Sleeve Dress Plus Size
Many people interpret the “fairycore” aesthetic to be very natured focused, and so I thought I had to include this butterfly dress. It’s a gorgeous option for someone who wants to sort of straddle a line between “light fae” and “dark fae.”

#13 Plus Size Fairycore: Dark Fairy
Sometimes a plus size fairycore lover wants to get a little dark and moody! I’m the same way, lol. To do this, my advice is to go with a light pastel with darker undertones, and add “dark fairycore” accessories. Wearing this dress you could accent with faux vines, a throw blanket, a few evil sidekick forest animals (probs not real ones, lol) for a cozy dark fairy moment.

Fluff! Fashion! Poofs! This is a lovely plus size fairycore dress, and it has a bit of a Marie Antoinette // French countryside vibe. The model looks perfectly styled, honestly, for plus size fairycore!

How fun is this next plus size fairycore dress? This is such a fun combination of a “high fae” or more royal look, with a fairycore cottage forest option!

To style this plus size fairycore outfit, I would add a gauzey shawl, along with slippers and an opal ring or jewelry.

#19 Plus Size Fairycore: Chiffon Bow Blouse
How gorgeous is this plus size fairycore blouse!? I know the jeans throw things off (ugh), but this type of blouse is perfect to wear with a skirt –even trousers! — for a plus size fairycore look! I think that this type of flowy full sleeve blouse with a bow — in any color — is a staple of a plus size fairycore wardrobe. You can use this in almost an infinite number of outfits!
I have a puff sleeve bow blouse from Eloquii in another kind of fabric, and I loved waring it for this photoshoot!

If you want to stand out from the “fairycore crowd,” then I think this dress is a beautiful way to do so! The flower crown // headband really makes this a “fairy of the forest vibe,” and I love how the team at JessaKae styled this dress with metallic bow slippers. A unique and beautiful look!
