Plus Size Swimsuits in 2023
Before I get to my list of where to shop for plus size swimsuits, I wanted to share a few tips that will help you when shopping for a bathing suit.
- Tip #1: Size Charts: Double check all size charts. A size 18 at one brand may be a size 24 elsewhere! Be sure to take your measurements before ordering!
- Tip #2: Differing Return Policies! Check return policies for swimwear! Some brands have specific stipulations.
- Tip #3: Buy 2! If you find a swimsuit that you LOVEEEE, I recommend buying 2! Fashion moves fast, and the brand may not offer that silhouette or print next year!

Plus Size Swimsuit Brand #1: Torrid
Torrid is one of the most popular plus size swimsuit brands, and I am a huge fan of their high waisted two piece plus size swimsuits! Torrid has an assortment of plus size tankinis, swim dresses, plus size high waisted bikinis and one piece swimsuits. I love the mesh fabric
Sizing:
- Torrid makes swimsuits that go up to a size 6X (size 30), and about an H cup.

Plus Size Swimsuit Brand #2: Amazon Plus Size Swimsuits
Amazon has a variety of plus size swimsuits, from plus size two pieces to plus size one piece swimsuits with board shorts.
Because there are SO many options on Amazon, I would recommend using the filters on the side to sort by style and size. I’ve shared links to my 3 favorite plus size swimsuits on Amazon.

Plus Size Swimsuit Brand #3: SuperFit Hero
SuperFit Hero is a new-to-me brand, and I just think they’re so COOL. I have one of their swimsuits awaiting a PR review, so I can’t vouch for them quite yet, but everything I’ve seen online about them (other blogger reviews, etc) are fabulous!
I love their plus size swim shirts and use of zippers! So fun!!

Plus Size Swimsuit Brand #4: Lane Bryant
Lane Bryant is a great go-to for folks who want plus size one piece swimsuits or want bathing suits that cover a bit more skin. The brand also has a good amount of plus size rash guards!
Lane Bryant Sizing
- Lane Bryant makes plus size swimsuits in sizes 10-40. For sized swim tops, their range is 38D to 42H!
Lane Bryant is one of my FAVORITE places to shop for plus size swimwear, because as an H cup I need that underwire support. I’m always very impressed with their thoughtful construction and sewing!

Plus Size Swimsuit Brand #5: Alpine Butterfly Swim
Alpine Butterfly Swim is one of my favorite indie designers of plus size swimwear. They’re the go-to brand for plus size fashionistas and influencers, who really want to make a STATEMENT at the pool. They have the perfect plus size swimsuits for a bachelorette party, resort or Miami Swim Week!

- They make swimsuits that go up to a size 6X!

Plus Size Swimsuit Brand #6: TomboyX
Next up on the list, I wanted to share a plus size swimwear brand that offers a bit more coverage – TomboyX! This LGBT-owned brand is a favorite of mine, and they have some pretty cool plus size swimsuits!
This LGBT-owned brand makes plus size swim shirts, swim suits and a sort of wetsuit-inspired plus size swimsuit! (More on gender neutral plus size swimsuits here that have more coverage!)
Sizing
- The brand goes up to a 4X in plus size bathing suits which on their size chart matches up to a waist measurement of 48 inches.

Plus Size Swimsuit Brand #7: Ulta Popken – Up to a Size 38!
One of the most plus size inclusive brands I could find for plus size swimwear is Ulta Popken! This fashion brand covers sizes 12-38, with a real diversity of plus size swimsuits! They have 90’s inspired swimsuits, swimsuits that have long shorts and bright plus size tankinis!
It’s kind of overwhelming how many diffferent kinds of plus size swimsuits they have!

Plus Size Swimsuit Brand #8: Eloquii
Eloquii is one of my favorite plus size fashion brands, and their curvy swimsuits are super fun! That said, I find that they run 1-2 sizes small. I recommend ordering a size up when snagging a plus size swimsuit from the brand, and be sure to check the reviews for fit! I love that they have super trendy plus size one piece swimsuits.

Plus Size Swimsuit Brand #9: PrettyLittleThing
Following that fun plus size swimsuit brand, we have PrettyLittleThing a super trendy and fashion forward company. If you’re looking for daring and showstopping plus size swimwear and plus size bikinis, then THIS is def a brand to check out!
Sizing:
- PTL goes up to a size 24 in most of their swimsuits! I haven’t shopped this brand, but they’re def on my list!

How fun are the colors on this plus size swimsuit? Nakimuli is an indie-owned plus size brand, and I am obsessed with this swimsuit!

ASOS is next up on our round up of the BEST plus size swimsuits! ASOS has a lot of strappy plus size swimsuits, and there are lots of fun prints and bright colors.
ASOS offers plus size swimsuits in up to a size 24 on most swimsuits, with some swimsuits available in a size 26.

Plus Size Swimsuit Brand #12: ModCloth
Looking for quirky plus size swimsuits and vintage inspired bathing suits? ModCloth has a super fun and colorful selection of plus size swimsuits, from red polka dot swimsuits to colorful and bright swimsuits! I’m a big fan of their plus size swimsuits with underwire!

Next up, a plus size swimwear brand that I am loving! Fashion to Figure makes super trendy plus size swimsuits, and I love that they have real plus size models on their website!

- 0X to 4X (their size chart is a bit different, reading as “sizes 0 to 4” but for plus sizes!)

Plus Size Swimsuit Brand #14: Curvy Beach Plus Size String Bikinis
I first met the founder of Curvy Beach, Elizabeth Taylor, a few years ago in NYC, at a plus size fashion event! She was so nice! Curvy Beach makes sexy and fun plus size bikinis that FIT plus size bodies! Most brands do not offer plus size STRING bikinis, and it’s rad to see what Curvy Beach does!

Plus Size Swimsuit Brand #15: GabiFresh x Eloquii
GabiFresh used to do swimwear collections with Swimsuits for All (my photoshoot editorial here!), and then announced a couple of years ago that those collabs weren’t happening any more. I was then STOKED when Gabi did a collab with Eloquii, and I snagged a couple of the swimsuits myself!

Plus Size Swimsuit Brand #16: Hot Topic
I freakin’ love the plus size designers at Hot Topic – they know how to show a gal a good time! If you’re looking for a more punk, witchy or goth-esque plus size swimsuit, then you’ll want to check out Hot Topic!
The brand goes up to a 5X, and they also have fun Sailor Moon and Hello Kitty plus size swimsuits!

Plus Size Swimsuit Brand #17: Dia & Co
Ok!!! Now it’s time to talk about Dia & Co! A lot of folks think that this plus size brand is only a fashion subscription box company, but it’s not!! Dia & Co also sells plus size clothing – and plus size swimwear – directly with no subscription!
The brand carries up to a size 28, but some options stop at a size 24.

Yours Clothing is a plus size swimwear brand that is known for their plus size swim dresses and one piece plus size swimsuits! The brand carries plus size swimsuits in up to a size 30 and size 32!

Plus Size Swimsuit Brand #19: Target
Ok, I’m not gonna lie — I was kind of nervous about buying plus size swimsuits at Target. I had never done it before, and it takes a lot of mental/emotional fortitude for a plus size babe to test out a new brand, ya know?
I was very pleasantly surprised, and I love Target swim! The only issue (ish) is that you can’t really buy in-store, at least from when I’ve tried to find plus size swim in-store! Make sure when shopping online to select “Target brands” to get stuff made by Target!

Next up, a plus size swimwear brand that’s perfect for festivals, raves or just being fabulous at your own pool! Chub Rub Clothing is an independently owned plus size swimwear brand out of Washington state!

Plus Size Bathing Suit Brand #21: Unique Vintage
Another plus size vintage-inspired swimsuit brand is Unique Vintage! This fashion brand has plus size curvy swimwear inspired by just about every decade, including 1950’s, 1960’s, and the 1970’s!
