As a business professional (I own a marketing and coaching agency), I’m often stuck in this weird spot where I need to get dressed for a meeting or for travel – but I often feel stumped when it comes to putting together plus size business casual outfits.

Searching “plus size business casual clothes” on Google isn’t super helpful, as I either only see ads – or I see outfit ideas that aren’t on a plus size body that looks like mine. [It’s obnoxious that in 2022, brands STILL insist on showing plus size clothing on like a size 8 person, but here we are.]
SO, today, I’m sharing 7 plus size business casual outfit ideas, with the goal of helping you (and me!) look like a boss at the office or in a meeting.

#1 Plus Size Business Casual Outfit Idea: Black Blazer & Fitted Jeans from Eloquii
Okay, so first up on our list is my go-to plus size work outfit – a black blazer with a white top and skinny jeans. To avoid looking to casual, I *never* pair this look with flip flops – the sandals must have an ankle strap!
The distressed jeans are a great option for people who work in a more creative industry. If you’re in a bit more of a traditional environment, I’d go with a dark wash jean! This specific “Alabama Blazer” is a blogger favorite, as it has little design details that elevate it — check out the hardware on the sleeves on the product page!
I like to add a little bit of flavor with a fun shoe or funky earrings! I love these leopard print sandals from Lane Bryant.
I like a plus size blazer that’s a little less fitted, as it makes it easier to sit in and get in and out of a rides hare!

#2 Plus Size Business Casual Outfit Idea: Stretchy Midi Plaid Plsu Size Work Dress
I have this plus size midi dress in the white plaid, and I get so many compliments on it! Unlike other plus size dresses you can wear to work, this bad boy has STRETCH.
I know, I’m a little obsessed with workwear that stretches! I have no regrets!
I style this plus size work dress with some gold jewelry and a bold red lip. Sometimes I’ll pair it with pointed booties or chunky sandals! Because this dress is black and white, I’d be tempted to amp this up with a bold pointed toe heel or boot [like these wide width black booties from DSW here!].
While this black little clutch pictured is SUPER cute, I need a big ol’ laptop bag. I have this laptop work purse in green, and I love it! It’s got a little wear and tear (lol oops), but this plus size work purse bag is SO GOOD! I’ve had multiple besties buy it because I won’t shut up about it, lolol.

#3 Plus Size Business Casual Outfit Idea: Two Toned Outfit in Green
I am OBSESSED with color blocked outfits, and I’ve been loving the trend of wearing 2 different tones of the same color.
Boss moves, truly.

#4 Plus Size Business Casual Outfit Idea: Wide Leg Tuxedo Pants & Top from HENNING ($349+)
This outfit from luxury retailer encapsulates “Business Chic” for me. This outfit is going to stand out in the BEST way, showing that you’re stylish and sophisticated – while also blending in a variety of conference rooms.
It just.. stands out in the right way, ya know?

#5 Plus Size Business Casual Outfit Idea: Plus Size Suit with Graphic Tee
If you’re like me, then you loveeee plus size business suits! Seriously, I adore them. [Here’s a blog post on where to shop for plus size business suits!]
The problem is that sometimes they just aren’t a fit for the business event you’re going to. When I feel like that, I snag a plus size graphic tee to put under the blazer – or wear the graphic tee with just the suit trousers.
It’s a perfect combination of put together and casual. I love how the stylists at Pretty Little Thing put this plus size business casual look together! This suit is sold out at PTL (at time of my October update), BUUUUT there are a ton of other really cute plus size suits at PTL! #6 Plus Size Business Casual Outfit Idea: Plus Size Workwear Tops
One of my biggest challenges when looking for plus size business casual outfits is TOPS. Like, I have a bunch of great wide leg trousers, dark wash, denim, etc.
But what’s hard for me to find is plus size workwear tops with stretch – that aren’t, like, t-shirts! So many plus size work tops are made out of like a slinky fabric, and they don’t STRETCH. This makes commuting, sitting at my desk, etc, a nightmare. [Ok, actually I own my own businesses and don’t commute – but I do drive in work apparel. Ok, you get me!]
Below, I’ve linked a bunch of interesting plus size business tops – that have STRETCH. We’re all out here moving around and working, and we need clothes that we don’t have to constantly tug on and readjust!

Hot Plus Size Business Casual Outfit Tip: When looking for tops with a bit of stretch, I go to the product information tab on the website and look at the fabric content. I try to find pieces that are made from fabric with 5% spandex or other stretch materials!!
#7 Plus Size Business Casual Outfit Idea: Wrap Dress from Eloquii
A wrap dress is a great business casual outfit for work, because you can just throw it on and get out the door!
I like to get plus size work dresses in a midi length, so they hit mid-calf. That way, if I’m sitting down, I don’t have to worry about my rear being on a faux-leather work chair, lol. [That does not feel good when I have to stand up!] I also like to wear anti-chafe shorts under dresses, to avoid chub rub!
If you like this solid color wrap dress from Eloquii, you can follow their stylist’s lead by wearing it with bold hoops! If I were wearing this, I’d add a high end vegan motorcycle jacket! #8 Plus Size Business Casual Outfit Idea: Oversized Plaid Blazer & Trousers ($320+)
I am obsessed with this plaid blazer from VEDA, available on luxury retailer 11Honore.com. A plaid blazer is wonderful, because it can fit in in a variety of places.
Unfortunately, 11 Honoré doesn’t make this plaid oversized blazer any more [cry], but this outfit is such perfect plus size business casual inspiration – I have to keep it!

#9 Plus Size Business Casual Outfit Idea: Bright Tie Front Dress ($99)
If you love dresses but aren’t always a fan of a wrap dress, I loveeee tie front dresses like this one from Eloquii! This is a great wardrobe staple and a must-have [imo] for any plus size business professional!

I’m an apple shape, which means that I sometimes feel like I look pregnant in a wrap dress. Luckily for me, I can get a similar aesthetic with a tie front, as it doesn’t “nip in” as much at the waist!

Okay, this plus size business casual outfit is NEXT LEVEL! Made by Eloquii, these wide leg denim trousers with a belt are drool-worthy.

I haven’t had a chance to try the high end plus size brand, BAACAL, yet, but they’re on my list! I saw this plus size business casual outfit for fall on their website, and I *instantly* knew I had to add it to this roundup!

#14 Plus Size Business Casual Outfit Idea: Plus Size Work Dress Mid-Calf Length
Next up on my list of plus size business casual outfits, we have this modest plus size business work dress! I love that it comes in multiple colors (yes, black is one — but I encourage you to try a color!), and that this is such a good base layer. This business casual outfit is available in up to a 4X!
You can wear this on cooler spring and summer days, and then in winter layer this plus size work dress up with a blazer (I’d do a faux leather plus size jacket!), tights and boots!

I am such a fan of a mock neck top (seriously, I think I have like half a dozen in my closet right now, lololol), and this plus size pleated mock neck top is GORGEOUS! Now on my list of plus size business casual outfit ideas, it’s time to share what I call a “workhorse” of a plus size dress for the office! (A “workhorse” is what it sounds like, a horse that does a lot of work, lol!)

Navy is my go-to color if I’m not sure how “dressed up” I need to be — it fits in in a variety of situations!
